All aboard for beetroot

beetroot has won the contract to write and design VTN, the monthly employee magazine for Virgin Trains.

The award followed a competitive pitch and beetroot's brief is to relaunch the magazine as Virgin Trains steps up its bid to retain its franchise in March 2012.

"Obviously we are delighted to be working with Virgin Trains and this is a very exciting project," said beetroot managing director Bob Wailling.  "Our team produced some really strong content ideas and highly contemporary visuals, which ticked all Virgin Trains' boxes.

"The new magazine will encourage staff to be brand ambassadors and illustrate what makes Virgin Trains stand out from other train operating companies, and therefore play a key role in helping retain the franchise."

Ken Gibbs, Virgin Trains communications manager, said: "VTN is a key part of our communications mix and I am excited that beetroot will be helping us make it even better, delivering the content our people want to read."
