Grand designs

While England's footballing finest were performing poorly against Algeria on Friday 18 June, beetroot was busy scoring at the Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC) Awards, claiming two class wins for its client TNT Express.

Having already bagged 10 Awards of Excellence, beetroot's designs outshone its rivals and we went home from the event at London's Hilton Hotel, Park Lane with awards for Best Newsmagazine Design and Best Redesign for One the magazine we produce for the global logistics company.

Redesigned into one magazine from two by beetroot in 2009, its fresh new look and structure went down well with the judges. In fact it got a full 40 out of 40 in the redesign category! 

"We're thrilled with the win and it is testament to the understanding, talent and flair shown by beetroot on a daily basis," said Richard Whelband, Communications Executive, TNT Express UK. "Merging the two magazines into one, and aligning them with the company strategy, was no mean feat and these accolades, plus the overall feedback from employees, shows how effective this redesign was."
