Eurostar strikes gold at CiB strategy awards
Wednesday, 19 November 2008 10:21

Eurostar’s HS1 Change Management Communications Programme was the star of the 2008 CiB Communication Strategy Awards winning two of the classes and also the coveted Gold Award.

Submitted in partnership with beetroot, one of Eurostar’s communications support agencies and the publishers of Voyage, the company’s quarterly internal magazine, the awards were announced on 14 November, the first anniversary of HS1 – Eurostar’s new high speed rail link from St Pancras International.

Eurostar and beetroot were class winners in merger/change communications and internal events. The programme also received an award of excellence in the single subject category.

The 18-month programme, which communicated – and helped smooth – the launch of HS1 and the move from Waterloo to St Pancras International to employees, was described by the judges as “taking employee engagement with change to a whole new level”.

“The level of investment in this engagement activity smacks of a company that was absolutely determined to get it right first time, and absolutely clear that the route cause of success are the people doing the job,” they added.
